Olive Oil

Saporito OVS offers a collection of estate-produced, award-winning extra virgin olive oil (EVOO), and naturally flavored olive oil which are either fused or infused. Fused olive oil (known as "agrumato" in Italy) refers to the method of simultaneously crushing olives and whole, fresh fruits, while both have been picked at the peak of ripeness. Infusion is the process of adding flavor, using essential oils from herbs, to the oil after the olives have been crushed to ensure long-lasting flavor.

 

Our oils are sourced from small regional growers in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, alternating throughout the year to ensure a constant supply of the freshest, best quality olive oil available.

 

Our exclusive selection of extra virgin olive oil is categorized and distinguished as Ultra Premium (UP). The UP logo indicates the highest quality EVOOs in the world exceeding all existing standards. In order to qualify for the UP grade, the extra virgin olive oil must meet or exceed a comprehensive set of production, storage, transportation, testing, compliance, chemical, and sensory requirements.

 

These requirements have been developed into a private specification representing a compilation of industry standards, best practices, and proprietary methods for achieving the highest level of quality. This specification encompasses the entire life cycle of an olive oil from tree to table, beginning with the farmer and ending with the sale of a bottle to a customer.

 

Our extra virgin olive oil is tested by an independent Australian lab using state-of-the-art chemical and sensory analysis and certified to be 100% pure, organic extra virgin olive oil with the highest levels of antioxidants.

Fused & Infused Olive Oil

Baklouti Green Chili

From the Barbary Coast of North Africa, this Tunisia Baklouti pepper is rare and unique to this region. This is the only example of this fruity and mildly spicy green chili olive oil in the world. Baklouti chili olive oil is made by combining one pound of extra virgin olive oil with 1.6 pounds of fresh whole green Baklouti chilies. The two, and only two, ingredients are then crushed and mixed in the malaxer fusing the fresh green pepper with the olive oil. Baklouti adds a new and surprising dimension to salsa. Basil

Made from ultra premium, ultra fresh, mild EVOO from our collection blended in small artisan batches. A fresh, green, herb taste of wonderful basil. Basil and olive oil are two integral ingredients in Mediterranean cooking and it was just obvious that the two would be wonderful together. This oil is delicious on a salad of fresh greens, or a simple pasta toss. As the Blood Oranges and Tunisian olives ripen, they are pressed together creating a tangy orange citrus flavor. Our Blood Orange EVOO is exceedingly versatile; use it on fish and seafood (salmon fillets or saute`d scallops), roasted chicken and lamb, sprinkle over asparagus, artichokes, broccoli and cauliflower, fruit, salads and much more. Love the flavor of butter, but don’t like the heart-stopping properties? This creamy, smooth, sweet olive oil is redolent with the rich flavor of butter. This oil actually gives off the flavor of pungent fresh garlic. Since garlic and olive oil are almost always used together in Mediterranean cooking you can use this in just about anything! White Truffle

A connoisseur’s olive oil! If you like the unmistakable intense flavor and aroma of White Truffle then you’ll love this oil. Made in Italy in an artisan fashion without the use of any extracts or chemicals, this olive oil is smooth, while having an unmistakable intense white truffle flavor. Makes a great finishing oil for many Mediterranean dishes. It is marvelous in mashed potatoes or drizzled on popcorn. Also makes an amazing aioli. A little goes a long way - use sparingly!
